Matt Sale is a character in Season 1 of AMC's Fear The Walking Dead. Matt Sale is Alicia's boyfriend, and attends Paul R. Williams High School. Matt Sale is portrayed by Maestro Harrell.
Biography
Background
Matt is an African American male in his late teens who lived in Los Angeles with his parents. He attended Paul R. Williams High School and was in a romantic relationship with Alicia for an unspecified amount of time. He is shown to be very artistic in the Pilot episode. Just before the epidemic hit, his parents had gone on vacation to Las Vegas and he had been home alone around the start of the outbreak.
Season 1
"Pilot"
Alicia Clark finds him (when she should be in a Spanish lesson) painting a mural. The Mural's his senior year project. He and Alicia are sitting on the lighting scaffolding on the roof of the school, chatting and spending time together. They talk about her plans for college and he draws the Spiral Heart design on her wrist. They arrange to meet at Venice Beach after school and spend the evening together. Matt doesn't turn up at the beach.
"So Close, Yet So Far"
When school closes early Alicia stops at his house to check on him. She finds the house open, in some disarray and Matt very sick with a high temperature. She calls her mother and when she and Travis arrive, Travis discovers that Matt has been bitten on the shoulder. Eventually Matt persuades Alicia to go with her mother, that he'll be okay because his parents are coming back later that day. Later, his parents car is seen at the front of the Sale house, their suitcases still at the car and the door wide open. It is implied, but never shown or stated, that Matt turned and attacked his parents.
