In Los Angeles, in order to get to the Downtown Business District, one must cross over the Los Angeles River. Since the river is dry most of the year, the bridges act more as a viaduct, as in it connects two points over land, as oppose to water. There are several bridges design to meet this purpose, two in particular are the Sixth & Fourth Street Bridge.
